I’m Hailey, a twenty-something, recent college graduate living in Charlotte, North Carolina.
I have wanted to start a blog for a long time, but there was always some excuse getting in the way. I’m too busy. I don’t have anything important to say. My writing isn’t good enough yet. Who reads blogs anymore anyway? But after graduating college, I have found myself itching to write again.
There’s another reason I’ve wanted not only to write, but write about books. For many years I have been a spectator to the sport of internet book commentary. I started watching book content on YouTube (BookTube, as it is commonly referred to) back in middle school. Ever since I have passively followed bookish creators on Youtube, Instagram, personal blogs, and most recently TikTok. I have always considered jumping into the conversation but have been too intimidated to take the leap – until now.
The kind of content you will find here is something I am still contemplating and curating. I’m sure I will be pulling together book reviews and recommendations, but I also plan on writing more freeform journal-style posts about the happenings in literary spaces and maybe even movies and music.
